Vic & Robbi write about North Star Sparkin LL and North Star Maarouf:
Hello! These are pics of a camping/riding trip along the Clearwater and St Joe Drainages last Sept. This was the boys first overnite and high mountain trip. They were just great, pretty quiet on the trail, but Sparky was surprised by some elk making a fast get-away up the mountain. They ate quietly in hobbles and enjoyed their blankets for the cold, frosty nights.
Darlene Patterson writes about North Star, aka Casper:
I have to tell you a couple funny stories about Casper while at the ride. We found him watching baby grasshoppers … sooo funny! I gave him his electrolytes laying down. He groomed and groomed Kay's horse all day. He drank the vet's dog water out of the dog's dish. After the ride, when he was laying down, I told Kay I think I'll just crawl on him and give him a big hug. She warned me it could be dangerous. I told her I didn't think so, that he was so mellow nothing would happen, and nothing did. He just laid there. Marybeth Alkire got a picture of it. She said she will get me a copy.
I would also like to mention that Carol and Drifter did Tevis this year. One hundred miles, 24,000 feet of elevation change, 106 degree heat and 24 hours in which to complete. Last year Carol and Drifter made it 70 miles, and this year, they did it in 22 hours and 56 minutes. Way to go!
Lynn and Royale report that they won Best Condition and First place at their first 25 mile endurance ride.
We are proud of each and every one of you and your horses purchased from North Star Arabians. Enjoy!
