Battle of Kadesh Relief of Ramesses II on the Walls of the Ramesseum

Ramses II charges above the fallen lords of the Hittite king's army from James Henry Breasted's A History of Egypt first printed 1905. Names of the fallen Hittites are enscribed near their bodies. A horse with stricken rider (pale yellow) crosses the dark Orontes river on the lower right. Breasted detailed this scene with the mounted horse swimming the Orontes in another drawing.
