The Scribe's Book Review
I was going to tell about a treatise on hadiths and other
Arabic customs ensuring the purity of the desert horse. Instead, I will
send readers first to the Manual of Straight Egyptian Horses, published
by the Pyramid Society. For those who don't have book shelves filled with
reference books on the desert horse, this book begins to fill the void.
I place it only after Al Khamsa Arabians as a serious tool for Egyptian
pedigree research, including Canadian bred horses. For those with a full
library, this is a must.
The $53 price tag for the wire spiral book comes despite
sponsorship throughout the book, in the charming way of honoring a great
of the breed on each tabbed chapter sheet, with the sponsor's name modestly
at the bottom. Moreover, Martha Murdock donated her extensive research.
So, this is truly a gift of knowledge. Thanx, guys!
